New Gears ^_^
Last week I’ve been browsing www.souq.com for used lens for sale. And a lens struck my eye and click it. Tamron AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF). This guy Oliver is selling away his for 900 dirhams. Quickly I check for the price in Malaysian web based shops (Shasinki, YL and Lowyat.net garage sales). This lens is fetching about RM1,700++ brand new. Well this Oliver bought his just 2-3 months ago. And he is packing a CPL filter with it. Sounds good right ^^ So a few message and text firmed a COD at Dubai the next day. Good. Next thing to do is to get Furby to agree to go Dubai tomorrow
And she agreed and the next morning we dress up and leave for Dubai!
So… we got to Dubai by bus and taxi (total to-and-fro of 150 Dh) and reached Mall of Emirates (MOE). Called this Oliver and decided to meet at Starbucks. In the mid of sipping coffee, munching cheesecake and sandwich, my phone rang and I turn behind and saw Oliver with his wife. Oliver is a Filipino, only I realized after seeing him personally. He handed over to me the Tamron 28-75mm and quickly I attach it to my camera and shoot away~~~ Few clicks and I found that the Autofocus is working. Pictures turning up great in F2.8!!!! Then I asked Oliver why he is selling off this lens and he told me he is switching to Nikkor 24-70mm AF-S (sweating already) to match his newly bought Nikkor 70-200mm AF-S (sweating even more). This guy must be making a fortune at Dubai. And lastly he plans to change to D700 body (that does it, he he freaking rich). Handed him the 900 Dirhams and walah…. I’m the proud owner of the Tamron AF28-75mm F/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) ^^

Snapped a few pictures with Tammy ^^

We continued shopping at MOE. Furby bought some clothes, continue shopping, blah blah blah, then we reach the 1st floor. Then I saw a camera shop and we walked in to see what they offer. It was there my eyes struck a Nissin flash on the shelves. A Nissin Speedlite Di622 for the price of 390 Dirhams. (100 bucks cheaper than back home) Tried the flash also tried to get some discount :p Failed… In the end I took out 390 dirhams from my wallet and pay for it
Walah….. I’m a proud owner of a Nissin Speedlite Di622 ^^

The flash at maximum output:

Forgot to add, I’ve bought myself an extra batteries for my camera (EN-EL3e) in the same camera shop. It was cheaper by 20 bucks compared to Malaysia. Buy it cause I received a Battery Grip from my friends for birthday which can hold an extra battery for longer camera life.
Also as a backup in case I forgot to charge batteries like during my Hatta-Wadi trip :p
Then we head to Jumbo, a giant electronic shop in UAE for hunt for MP3 player that I promised Furby I’ll buy for her. We shortlisted Sony and Creative. In the end we opted for the Creative one since it’s cheaper (DH299) and the memory can be expanded ^^
So that concludes my gear hunting day at Dubai. Total of 2k damage for the trip, food, and gears. swt…. This coming weeks need to eat sand liow -.-”"” But it was worth it ![]()

Actually the Tamron 28-75 2nd hand can be found quite cheap in malaysia. last time my friend did offer me that lens for only RM1,100 but in canon mount. the reason he is selling cause he got a 5D and using a 24-105 L lens…
